Corporate votes and elections
It is not always personal opinions that have to be recorded anonymously and securely in the business environment. Often it is also a matter of supposedly simple election or decision-making processes, in which, however, the requirements for security and anonymity of participation are very similar to, for example, employee surveys. Elections of this kind can be conducted both online and on paper.
Rogator has already gained extensive experience in the context of election support, be it in the context of personal elections for employee representatives or works councils. Or in other election processes, such as an election of employee of the year or in the context of awards for special achievements. For these projects, you can rely on the proven combination of our first-class project management with extensive employee feedback experience and Rogator’s proven software technology.
Your advantages from election support with Rogator
-
Proven feedback software
Rogator software can be used not only to conduct surveys, but also to manage all forms of voting and feedback processes. Our different question types allow for all options (1 out of N, n out of N, scoring, abstentions, etc.). Text, image and video templates are easily incorporated into our programming, if necessary.
-
Anonymity
Even and especially in the case of elections of the type described, the guarantee of anonymity during participation is a decisive prerequisite for creating trust on the part of the participants. Rogator acts as the "trustee" of anonymity and has a convincing command of the process of pseudonymisation or anonymisation of participant data.
-
Project management
For international projects, competent project management is of paramount importance, as various processes must be coordinated in parallel. For example, we support you with the preparation of candidates, the processing of photos or videos and the translation of invitations and voting portals with efficient time management. This is necessary because legal requirements and deadlines often have to be met.
The process of a works council election with Rogator
Depending on the structure, works council elections take place either directly or indirectly, with delegates being elected by the workforce through an indirect procedure, who in turn decide on the composition of the works council. All these processes can be mapped online with Rogator with professional election support.
In some cases, the candidates have already been determined. In other cases, they may choose to be interviewed in advance and provide some data. Support in the form of a photo and/or a slogan is usually also recommended. Candidates can enter and upload this information via an applicant mask.
In the next step, Rogator will design the online voting process – in different languages if desired. The candidates are then usually presented with name and picture on the election page. Participants are invited to vote by Rogator via e-mail and can call up the voting screen once. There they can then – depending on the election procedure – award one or more votes or distribute points to the candidates.
When the time comes, voters can be reminded of the election by e-mail. At the end of the election period, the voting access will be closed and Rogator will provide the results for different constituencies or countries in the form of “official” result sheets, on request also online in a suitable result overview.
Awards and prizes with Rogator
The awarding of awards for special achievements or the election as “Employee of the Year” can be performed in a very similar way. As a rule, however, the procedure is such that there is no self-application, but any person can be proposed online by others or nominated for election.
Even in the nomination phase, Rogator supports the nominees by inviting them and providing them with input masks. The person concerned should also be described in the text. The reasons for putting the person forward must also be indicated. After this phase, an internal committee can then carry out a preselection which, for example, is based on pre-defined criteria. The consent of the selected persons must also still be obtained to position themselves as applicants at all.
All employees are again invited to the actual election and look at the candidate Standing for election. Ocassionally short video filme are even made About the candidates, in which they introcuve themselves or are introduced by other People. These can be seamlessly integrated into the Tuning mask via the Rogator software.

What is the scale for online works council elections?
The pure number of participants in online works council elections is basically unlimited. The organisational effort only increases when integrating different languages or when considering several countries with their own candidate lists. However, these requirements are taken into account in Rogator's professional project management and scheduling, so that more or fewer projects of any size can be handled online.
-
Should pictures be used for personal elections?
On the one hand, the use of images facilitates the entire process for voters and has an overall motivating effect. In many cases, the voters will not even know the candidates by name, but will be able to orient themselves better with the help of pictures. On the other hand, images can also be an unwanted influence, especially if they are of very different quality or if some candidates do not provide an image at all and for this reason already have fewer chances of being chosen. Advantages and disadvantages must therefore be weighed against each other.
-
Participation without a company email address?
In "younger" companies especially, it is now common for the employer to be able to communicate with employees on certain issues via their private email address. This procedure can then also be used for elections in the form described. However, care must be taken to compensate for the time needed to take part in the elections. The option of a paper invitation can also be easily implemented. Rogator is happy to print and send the invitation letters.
-
How can voter turnout be increased?
In addition to the possibility of reminding voters of the election once or twice by email, a high turnout in elections requires the project to be embedded in an overall communication campaign. This means that the staff must be informed about the procedure before the invitation to the actual election and thus have the chance to decide in advance whether to participate in the election or even to be nominated as a candidate. Rogator is happy to advise its customers in this respect and supports the work with suitable process proposals and text templates.
The paper invitation
A sensible alternative to paper ballot papers
A good and inexpensive alternative to paper surveys is paper invitations. The participants receive a paper-bound letter with a participation URL and an access code for the survey. The implementation is carried out on PCs / terminals that have been set up specially. The voting screen can also be accessed on the smartphone or tablet using the QR code. By dispensing with paper ballot papers, not only can time and costs be saved, but environmental benefits can also be achieved.
